Southern Regional College
Southern Regional College is the largest Further and Higher Education College outside of Belfast in Northern Ireland. With a total of six campuses in Armagh, Banbridge, Kilkeel, Lurgan, Newry and Portadown and covering two of the newly appointed district councils, the College offers a first class education and an exciting learning environment for further and higher education.
Southern Regional College is steeped in history, with some of their predecessor Colleges dating back some 100 years. Southern Regional College was formed in August 2007 when Armagh College, Newry & Kilkeel Institute and Upper Bann Institute merged. Previous to these establishments, were the ‘Tech’s’ located at the various sites, which have seen many generations through their doors, from grandmother to mother and daughter educated at our campuses.
Covering two district councils, Southern Regional College offers first class education and training and an exciting learning environment for Further and Higher Education. We have recently opened two brand new campuses at Armagh and Banbridge, following a £55m investment in our estates.
Southern Regional College offers courses from recreational hobby courses through to Degree and Master’s level qualifications. Courses are offered both on a full-time and part-time basis. Southern Regional College also provides Apprenticeship Training programmes at Further and Higher Level, tutoring students in skills prized by employers.
Southern Regional College are confident that they can offer students qualifications which provide clear progression pathways which are relevant for the workplace. They currently cater for approximately 32,000 students each year and have in excess of 900 members of staff.
