Level 3 Fitness Instructing and Personal Training
This course will provide you with the skills you need to have a successful career as personal trainer. You will develop skills to help individuals achieve their health, fitness and lifestyle goals. The course is delivered with face-to-face training to give you the practical experience of communicating, assessing and motivating your clients. We believe that training you in a gym and studio environment, with tutors and peers, will give you the right skills and experience to start your PT career.
Level 3 Education and Training
Expand your skills, train for a new career or gain a nationally recognised qualification. These courses are mostly part-time, and allow for excellent skills progression.

The course is a great alternative for those who don't want to head off to university to study higher education, or who do not want to study away from home. We offer smaller class sizes to allow you to explore a range of computing topics, will look in considerable detail a range of factors influencing technology within companies and how a range of IT / Computing solutions can be developed to improve efficiency within an organisation.
BA (Hons) Childhood, Youth, and Family studies
This course is suitable for a range of individuals working in diverse roles across the children’s workforce, for example in schools, nurseries, youth/play work, residential care, health and social environments, specialist or alternative provision, inclusion/behavioural/SEN support teams and family support. Please note: this is not an exhaustive list and applications are encouraged from any individual working with children and/or young people and/or families where the child is aged between birth and 18 years. Applicants may already be employed in the sector or could opt to engage in an appropriate voluntary placement of 70 hours.
BSC (Hons) Top Up in Animal Applied Management
This programme is a one year course designed to follow on from an animal management foundation degree and is for students who wish to develop their knowledge of the exciting scientific and technical developments currently taking shape within the global animal management industries.
Focus will be made on critical appreciation for animal management in its wider context considering animals as pets and companions on farms, in zoos and in wildlife parks.
FdSc Equine Management Training and Coaching
The FdSc Equine Management, Training and Coaching is a level five qualification suitable for those with a strong interest in ethical horse management and training. The programme is aimed at developing a wide range of equestrian skills to maximise employment and entrepreneurship within the equine industry but also develops graduate and transferable skills with the intent to maximise career opportunities for graduates.
HNC in Manufacturing Engineering
The programme has been designed to enable engineers to develop the skills necessary to fault find and problem solve in a timely, professional manner, reflecting on their work and contributing to the development of the process and environment they operate within. This course will aim to provide direct progression in Manufacturing Engineering careers, and has been designed to appeal to students from a variety of backgrounds.
Level 4 Working with Children and Families
This course is suited to any person wishing to work, or already working, with children and/or young people with a desire to study at a higher level. It is delivered over a one year period from both the Ashington and Berwick campuses at level 4; students who successfully complete will be awarded a Certificate of Higher Education in Working with Children and Families through the University of Cumbria. Success at this stage will entitle you to apply for a further one year study route to achieve a Foundation Degree Working with Children and Families and subsequently a BA (Hons) Working with Children and Families following a third and final year of study, if desired. The course is broad and sufficiently flexible to meet varying professional specialisms/age range preferences and allows for progression to further study in areas such as teaching and social work.
Level 5 Certificate in Education
The course is ideal for practicing teachers, trainers and those wishing to train to teach in all post fourteen education and training sectors. This could include teaching in further education, adult education, offender learning, local government, health services, police, the armed forces or for private trainers.

16-19 courses are free, 19+ courses are paid and vary by course. Financial aid is also available for students who need support.
