Costume for Theatre, TV & Film FDA
This is an intensive, vocational and highly practical course covering all aspects of costume work.
This includes pattern drafting (flat and on the stand), costume construction, corset making (flat and on the stand), millinery, ruffs and rebatos, foundation wear, stretch wear and body padding, basic tailoring techniques, hand and machine embroidery, tutu construction, printing techniques, dyeing, distressing and costume enhancement.
The Drama Directing MA has been specially designed to equip students with high-level skills and knowledge to work professionally as a drama director.
Drama Writing at BOVTS is designed to nurture you in finding your distinctive voice as a writer for stage, screen and audio. The course aims to be innovative in its approach, by immersing you within the whole theatre and screen portfolio. You’ll develop a systematic understanding of dramatic writing as an art, craft and business and see your work explored practically by other students.
This one-year MFA level course (in the UK the terms course and program are used interchangeably) gives up to 14 International postgraduate students from outside the UK the opportunity to study in Bristol on an intensive forty-week conservatoire course.
The MA in Performance Design provides specialist vocational training preparing you for a career in designing for the stage and screen.
Production Arts (Stage & Screen) BA (Hons)
The BA Hons Production Arts (Stage and Screen) provides a broad-based training, combining theatre, TV/film and radio drama production skills.
This BA Hons level programme provides students with advanced level skills and knowledge in Acting for all media including Theatre, Television, Film and Radio.
Professional Voice Studies MFA
Professional Voice Studies is an exciting and uniquely designed course offering students the opportunity to undertake specialised voice studies training within an internationally acclaimed theatre school setting. (In the UK the terms course and programme / program are used interchangeably)
Their Scenic Art MA is taught by highly experienced industry professionals and offers an intensive, vocational training in scenic art. BOVTS enjoys strong links to the theatre and entertainment industries and they are proud of our exceptional employment record.
The course focuses on exploring approaches to acting that are particularly suited to screen performance. You will have the opportunity to analyse notable theories and techniques of screen acting, and an understanding of theory will then be integrated into practice.
